We Know It's Forbidden: Pt. 3

I tossed and turned in my nest. I tried to sleep but images of Sootwhisker kept appearing in my mind. You would think that would calm me down. Well you're wrong. Everytime I saw him, my heart flew, but it also sank. I felt bad about not telling my best friend but even worse, I felt bad about the code. I wanted Sootwhisker, but I also wanted to be the best and most loyal warrior I could be. Being in love with him didn't help with the loyalty part.
Finally, I decided to go take a walk. I stumbled out of the den and grumbled to myself as I padded out the entrance.
I walked until I found myself at a small stream. I collapsed by it and felt my tears spill over and drip into the stream.
"Why are you crying?" I spat at myself.
"Because I love him and everything reminds me of him and I want to be with but I don't want to be a traitor!" I sobbed.
I cried more and watched as the tears spilled over into the water. I looked down at my reflection. But instead of my gray pelt and blue eyes, I was looking at a ginger cat with amber eyes. Suddenly, the cat was beside me, snarling.
"What do you want Redthorn?" I choked.
"To kill you!" she growled.
I was too tired and depressed to be angry, "Why?"
"Because you stole the life I've always wanted! StarClan said I would have the chance and now look what I am!" she screamed.
I still didn't look at her, "I'm sorry Redthorn. But there's nothing I can about this."
"Yes there is," she growled, "stop being in love with the cat I love!"
My ears perked up, "What?" I asked confused.
"You heard me! I'm in love with Sootwhisker too! I've loved him since the first moment I met him!" She growled, her eyes filled with hostility.
I stood up and faced her. I stepped up closer to her and whispered in her ear, "There is nothing you can say to make me not love him."
"Wanna bet?" she challenged.
I growled her and whispered, "You're on."
She yowled and leaped at me but I had expected her to do that. I ducked out of the way and swiped a paw across her side. She landed on the ground with a thud and charged at me again pinning me down.
"Go ahead," I spat, "kill me. Hurt the cat you love. If you really love him, you'll let him go."
I saw pain cloud her eyes and suddenly her weight was lifted off of me and she dissolved into the air.
I looked around for a moment then shook my head to clear it. It all came flooding to me like a giant wave.
Redthorn had always wanted to be in a prophecy. And she was in love with Sootwhisker. No wonder she hates me! I'm in love with Sootwhisker and I was part of a prophecy! Great StarClan what have you done to me?
I felt the tears spill over again and I layed down by the stream again. I cried into the stream again until there were no more tears to shed. I sniffed and tried to stand up. I collapsed as my paws slid out from under me and fling me into the shallow stream. I cried dry tears and crawled uselessly out of the stream. I just layed down by it this time and didn't bother drying myself off. I just layed there and thought about everything.
Finally, I knew what I had to do. From now on, my life belonged to...............
Sootwhisker.
I knew I couldn't fight him. And I was too tired to try. Right now, he was my only hope of survival.
